Spring Scholastic Chess Tournament results

Western Illinois University hosted the Spring Scholastic Chess Tournament 2019 lastSaturday April 6th. Leathernecks and Illowa chess clubs organized together this event, in which Tony Britton was the referee. Rick Rector and Luis Peralta coordinated the tournament. In the event, 14 students from the Quad Cities competed in four categories. Calum Sommer in K6-K8 from Pleasant Valley Jr. and Lennon Barry West from Moline High School in K9-College dominated their categories by winning all their games. Next scholastic event will be on November 2nd and on May 4th, the 5 de Mayo WIU Chess Tournament will take place at the Riverfront Building at WIU in Moline. Congratulations to all the participants and winners!!
