On June 1st and 2nd, the Iowa Amateur Team Tournament is being held in Cedar Rapids at the PCI building , as we in the Iowa Chess Community affectionately refer to as Bob's Place. We have 3.5 teams signed up now with a team from Kansas! The Iowa Team Tournament was held back in the 1990's and a team that included James Hodina were champions. Unfortunately James cannot defend his title as he will be helping to direct.
If you don't have a team? No worries, join up as an individual and we will create a team for you. I have drafted my son's to play and round out teams as needed. There are under prizes for lower rated teams. And the price can't be beat. Please come and show your support of Iowa Team Chess this weekend.
The price is right at only $10 per player if you sign up now, $15 onsite. Did I say this is also FIDE Rated? Help Jim and I get the third norm in our FA title. We need two more teams to make this work. Please come on out and support us.
