Scholastic Chess Team Tournament 2019 in Moline
National Chess Day was celebrated at Western Illinois University in Moline last Saturday October 12th. The winners were the 42 students from eight different schools from the Quad Cities that participated in this chess team tournament celebrated for the first time. Players from elementary, middle, high school, college and university did their best effort to win each match. The standing charts below show the name of the students, teams and schools. Pleasant Valley and WIU tied for the first place in the High School-College category, while Quad Cities Christian School Team A won its four matches and the first place in the Elementary-Jr. High category. The event was organized by the Leathernecks and Illowa Chess Clubs, and hosted by WIU-QC. Congratulations to all the students that participated and to the parents that assisted to support their children.
